The instructor will appoint a country to each group. This country should not be the country of citizenship or residence of any member in the group. In such a case, please inform the instructor as soon as possible. “RUSSIA” The group is required to identify an MNC that is originated (established and grew up in this country). Submit the name of the company by 29th of June 2021 by writing it in the excel file in Team. “PJSC GAZPROM” The company of choice must be a multinational corporation that has operation and significant investment in other countries. For this project, select one significant foreign market (a country) that this company has significant foreign direct investment (FDI) or significant sale (export).
The selection of foreign market must be based on several condition such as [1] the MNC has significant investment in the market and/or [2] the MNC has significant sale in this market. Topic 1 (Country’s name)Critically discuss and analyze the country including descriptive analysis, economy, socio political matters, free trade agreement etc. In addition, the discussion should also include factor of production (factor mobility) that are available in this country. Specifically, the factor[s] that contributed significantly to the emergence of the MNC. This factor of production can be endowed or acquired (refer to Chapter 5).You must support your argument with data. Topic 2 (MNC’s name)Critically discuss and analyze the MNC. Topics 3 (A foreign market).Critically, discuss and analyze the foreign market. Support your argument with data. Sustainable Development Goal Discuss what is United Nation SDG and why it is important. Also discuss what or what not the company has done regarding the SDG. Discussion This is a very important section. In this section, group must discuss the country participation in global trade. Discuss critically the most significant barriers/challenges the MNC faced in the market and ways that the company has taken to overcome the challenges. Discuss critically the most important source of competitive advantage of the MNC success in the market.
This source could be natural resources available in the country of origin or acquired source from other countries. Your discussion can also include global market dynamic and business networks as well as the internal elements of efficiency, learning and flexibility of the MNC. Present your opinion/argument/criticism about the company’s practice of SDG. Conclusion.
